Kodiak Military Telephone Directories

These directories were found at NARA Anchorage. Only a few were scanned. The 1964 original is at our museum.

ARMY

Army switchboards were manual. All calls were handled by an operator. Switchboards were as follows:
CABLE - 215th C.A.
CAMEL - 58th INFANTRY
COAST - 250th C.A.
CORAL - Alert Only
COAST MILLER - Fort Abercrombie
Fort Greely - main switchboard, Western Electric Model 12 (earlier a BD-40)
COAST CHINIAK - Fort J.H. Smith
COAST LONG ISLAND - Fort Tidball, BD-74
Joint Control Post (JCP)
Bell's Flats (CBs 4th Const. reg.)

Navy had an Automatic Electric Strowger dial telephone exchange which was in use past 1980.
